Cooking; by Lacie.....

Oh My...as usual Mumsie just lazed around all day doin' nuthin'...and then the usual panic of what to cook for dinner. 'Cept she had no food. So once again it was up to me to go outside in the frozen north and forage for supper.

First I tried this rather unattractive babushka type of scarf thingie...note the potato chip holder to get it snug against my fur...at least I'm sportin' the right Pittsburgh colors...Black and Gold...
I found the whole getup rather cumbersome and have no idea how Mumsie wears it when she walks us...yes...and wouldn't you just LOVE a pic of that...hahahahaha...not happenin'...
We ran outside to look for food...look at the big Dale...is he sniffin' for fresh meat? Or is it just another piece of chewin' gum?... BTW, my beard is a bit shorter after that experience...had a little session with the scissors...sniff.

Ah ha...look what the Lacie found...a chicken...fresh and delectable....ready to cook!

Scruffy...give me it, this instant!!!!!!...it's MINE...I found it...LET IT GO!!!!!!!!

HA!!! Now stay away from me...I'm warnin' ya......

Stoopid dog....I TOLD YOU NOT TO GET TOO CLOSE......

Stan's a lot smarter...see his tail is missin' in action...he gets like this when the Lacie flashes her toofers at Scruffy......

Ahh...another successful experience of huntin' and gatherin'.....Laciestyle....

Hmm....Asta taught me to cook Chicken Paap Reek KA...she even sent me some special Hungarian paap reek KA....I'm assumin' I just dump the package in the pot with the or reg ann o and turn the fire on?????? Followin' her recipe is too much work...I'll just do a little Lakie improv here.... The package says it's HOT....MIAM MIAM as Faya would say!!!!!....
We'll let ya know how this delisssh meal turns out!!!!!
OH NO....I forgot to get sour cream at the store...Asta even brushes her teeth with it...I KNOW I need some for this chicken...hmmm...
Cooked Lakie barks...

Lacie, we hope that works for you, but it might become dog food if you screw it up too badly.

Awww Lacie...you should have your own cooking show...maybe you can get your momma to dedicate a weekly cooking bloggy to you...

That way you can teach us all you know!

Hmmm....

I don't know, Lacie. I think you may have forgotten a few steps. For one thing, you have to turn the stove on. Mom tried to heat up some soup for grandpa tonight. When it took too long she realized that she forgot to turn the stove on. I think that's what they call a "senior moment". Anyway, from what I have learned about cooking, I think that turning the stove on is the most important step.

Nice job hunting and gathering. You captured a real fine specimen. What was my hero Scruffy doing when you were out in the snow hunting, besides trying to take your prey away from you after you caught it? Probably the same thing that Stanley was doing. Nothing. That's my boy, Scruffy!!

Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

Sweet Lacie the Improvisor!

You are a very cute babushka, and I have no doubt you could make sure your family is nourished properly. Ya know, you dogs could eat that chicken raw and it should be no problem, but I somehow doubt Mumsie would feel the same way.

You look so at home on top of the stove. Be sure to stay a safe distance from those flames. Wouldn't want your blond curls to go up in smoke. I mean it. Be careful, girlie!

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

Lacie gal, you are quite a hunter, maybe you have some usefulness after all. You certainly are closer to actual cooking than my momma ever gets. You actually know where the stove is!

Slobbers,
Mango

P.S. There is a mysterious package awaiting inspection tonight. Momma says its from you? Maybe I should get a bomb sniffin doggie to check it out before I open it.

Lacie, we hate to tell you this, but that chicken looks a little too rubbery for hooman consumption. It should be okay for doggies, though! You might want to send Stan back out to hunt for some quail. We hear they're tasty!

Gads girl,
Julia Child you are not. Hopefully you did not burn down the house.
Does Mumsie wear the potato chip clip with the scarf?

I am so sorry to hear that your gum storage area has been removed. It was the perfect place for it too.
You are the greatest hunter ever!
I cannot wait to hear how the chicken turned out.
I wish I could adopt your stanley that is up for adoption...but he is all the way in Florida. Oh well, I am sure he will find a forever home soon.

I sure have enjoyed your stories. They make me and my mum smile

Well of course you found that chicken because you had on your babushka....At least Mumsie wears that..PL2 looks like she is from the Artic and all you can see is her eyes...MORTIFYING......Uhmm Lacie..that chicken looks very very much like one of Archies favorite toys......Love A+A

Dexter said...

We love our pressies! I still don't know how Lacy got her voice inside that monkey. It is also not clear why our new toys are now hiding. Something about not wanting to hear that sound and the Mango being a toy piggie.

You should probably watch the food network for at least 2 weeks before you try to cook again. I am kinda scared to see how this one turns out.
