How to Escape at the Park, by Lacie!!

Lacie here...yes, I um ESCAPED TODAY...at the park...

You see, Mumsie decided to make me wear that Mental Leader pictured above...I seem to have some problems with um er growling and lunging at other dogs when we walk...and it makes Stan go nutso...so we had our pack, Daddy, and Bruvver and Sus and Perfect Baylee all drive to the park.

By the time we got there, I had already gotten out of my Mental Leader. Mumsie had given up and put it in her pocket. Bruvver made some sarcastic remark about me GETTING MY OWN WAY AS USUAL. So Mumsie kneels and makes the Mental Leader smaller and proceeds to try to stuff my head in it. 'Cept I backed outta it....AND TOOK OFF....FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, AT LAST!

It was seventy degrees today...park stuffed with dogs and hoomans. And me, off-lead.....LOOSE DOG was shouted. Hoomans and dogs surrounded us and TRIED TO CATCH ME...here's a photo....
Yes, someone actually called me a GREASED PIG. Sheesch...as if my butt's that big!!!

Then the best part happened. Hoomans (including Mumsie) started PELTING ME WITH TREATS...cheese, bacon bits, dog cookies...pretty much everything but hot dogs...all fallin' on my head. Pandemonium ensued....the other dogs started gobblin' up all those treats...finally, Mumsie was chasin' me and I backed up right into Sus' arms...

I walked the rest of the way with my usual Lakie attitude...and NO MENTAL LEADER.

Then we got to the car and got loaded in...and um...Daddy opened the passenger front door and walked away!!!

Yeppers...jumped over the seat and flew out the car door...and was quickly caught...twice in one walk...with us canines on a hooman:dog 1:1 ratio. It was like heaven...twenty hoomans throwing dog treats at us...Scruff, Stan and Perfect Baylee owe me big. Mumsie said somethin' bout us taking years off her life.

On another subject... 'member this pic Mango snapped of me in my HOT TO TROT nurse's uni??? Check out my knees...see my head on them???

I told Mango this is the first time I've ever been able to look up my own skirt!

SMOKIN'!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!

Laciegirlie!!!

Well that was some adventure, great idea for getting treats, but we are a little puzzled are you not allowed off the lead in the park.

Hey Lacie! I bigified that photo of you lookin up your own skirt. Sheesh! How did that happen?

About your mayhem at the dog park. You need one of those sports bras like peewee has for sure. It is made by the same people who make the Mental Leader except it is escape proof.

That was most clever to get so many nommy foodables but you really do need to be mindful of your poor mumsie's heart.

Slobbers,

Lacie cheescake. Teehee a Lacie in the box! Love it.

You been practising escapology again? Sheese. You need to listen to Mumsie. Then you can have your fun and eat it too. F'rinstance I was running round the park today OFF my lead and managed a good chow down on Dobbin poops and a nibble or two of deer poopsie for afters. Then I tried to give a tiny leggeded who requested my presence for a stroke a lickie smackeroonie before Mom pulled me away (why?)

Pawsonally I think your Fee As Co was Bruvvers fault.

Wiry love Eric xxxx

Lacie,
I know you love your Mommy and Daddy, but running away just isn't good. Wow, twice, that is a lot. I love the treat part, but surely you could get treats without escaping. You might find yourself going to doggie school if you keep up acting like this.in

You little Rocket! What wild escapades. Wish we could have been there to cheer you on and snapple up treats...next time!

Too funny Laciegirl! You are to be commended for escaping that awful contraption. I also HATE that thingy, but when we go for walks Mommy makes me wear it.She says I pull too much with a regular collar. All I have to do is hear the word Gentle Leader and I run for the hills! She keeps it in her purse and I have (on a few occasions) broken into her purse and tried to chew it up...I always get caught though. Phooey!I've had a few great escapes myself and am proud of you!!

BOL!! You really do act an awful lot like a little WelshieBoy I know.

Geez, all the years that I had to wear that blasted contraption - I was never able to figure out how to back out of it! How did you do it, Lacie?
We're sure glad that you're safe! Poor Mumsie!

Love ya lots,

Gulp......ok this is not good(PL2 is getting a mental image of 300 dogs going for all the treats and we think she may have fainted.....Well we were (JUST A LITLE BIT) giggling at the mental image.....But OF COURSE this is not good.....We will have to think of a nother plan( if you think of it let PL2 know like in case she would EVER have to use it.......Bottom line is there are just some kids that need to be growled at when you walking and if your BROTHER can not deal with it isn't that HIS fault? Just a thought..( HEY how about a straight jacket?? for the boys of course) Love A+A OH and no comment on your nursing unifrom....

Lacie Girl, that is not good - don't you know you could get lost or even worse hurt? We used to wear those Mental Leaders too but Mom was too smart for us. She knew we could back out of them so we also wore our choke collars and she connected the leash to both the Mental Leader and the choke. The choke collar really doesn't work when it is attached to the ML but if we back out of it, we still have the leash attached to the other one. They also now make Gentle Leaders with a little loop that you can connect to your regular collar as a safeguard. Mom says Ciara will be on the Mental Leader soon too:)

That looks like the best time ever! What a game!
You run around loose and people throw treats at you! WOW!! It doesn't get any better than that. Too bad that they don't play that game around here.

What a fabulous post. All we have to do is escape and the treats appear. Brilliant, thank you for sharing. As for the nurse photo...naughty but nice :)

omdog Lacie you are SO BAD I love it!! LOL. good job scaring those humans. I mean, that leader thing looks like some crazy torture device. Maybe if you got plastic surgery and got a Boston Terrier nose installed you'd be better off because they couldn't put that contraption on you!

TwoSpecialWires said...

So. We think Moma's been doing it wrong all these trips to the park. Are you saying that the hoomans go loaded with cheese and bacon bits and hot dogs? (Even if they sometimes forget the hot dogs?) Where have WE been? We think all our moma takes along is a couple of extra poop bags. We think we'd better start misbehaving.

Plotting our next walk,
Jake and Fergi xxoo

Lacie. Please don't do that again. You are asking for your own questionable reputations. Just how many of the treats did YOU eat?

Tosca the Lakeland Terrier said...

Holy smokes! Quite the adventure. I hope your people's hearts have since restarted. I'm a puller too so my homie puts me in half hitch with my plain old flat collar and leash. It works pretty well. Don't tell Mumsie about this; if humans can control terriers, then they could rule the world!!!

Jake of Florida said...

What an adventureQ

Long ago, even though we pull, our Mom decided that no gentle leader would be safe with us. So we're very low tech collar and harness.

But give Mumsie a break, will ya?

Um, me Laciegirliecutiehoudinicakes.........

First of all, please tell me that you shared your smoothies with Mumsie!?

What did you think you were doing? You need to behave, me sweetheart! Now, I know that it all worked out this time especially because you allowed the others to indulge in lots of delicious treats.

Now, I'm still grounded from the incident of me trying to get me muffer's unmentionables that you borrowed back to her dresser drawer. And, I'm sorry that she pelted you with her bunny slippers and curlers. She can smell you a mile away (a little less pawfume next time dear girl).

Me thinks she may let you come over tonight because me needs the best (and the hottest) nurse in town. Me knee injury needs just the right nursie to take care of it.

Irish Love,
McG Studmuffin
