Home Again & Stuffie Stan's Accident.....!!!

Hi Everybody!!! Lacie here! As usual! We're home now from Hilton Head....but I have to fill ya in on the accident Stuffie Stan had on our last day there.....Asta's friend Petey had left a comment on our chatbox to go and visit a store that a friend of his mom owns. Stuffie Stan climbed on his trusty bicycle and off he went!

He found the store nestled in a lovely area with restaurants, cafes, and JEWELRY STORES (caps for the girls!). Feelin' a bit dry from the short bike ride he sat here and ordered an iced coffee.

Then he stopped to smell the flowers........

Here is the picture of the Petey's friend's store!!! 'Cept it wasn't open yet...that was unfortunate cuz I hear they have some of the latest fashions! Not to mention some 'dorable shoes I saw by peakin' in the window!!!

Now Petey DID mention that there was a GATOR that lives by this store...and that he tries to lure you over to him.

Now Stuffie Stan was feelin' pretty brave from his last heroic Gator experience........

Sometimes bravery equals stoopidity.......

Stuffie Stan....THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!! The following pix are a little too graphic for younger pups or kitties.....(cover ur eyes, GirlGirl!!)

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank Dog, someone called 911....it was a terrible fight...with the Gator sustainin' severe Dale- inflicted wounds.

And Stuffie Stan is severely injured! His hindlegs sorta look like chopped liver...um wait...I am a nursing student here...the Stuffed Dale is suffering from severe lacerations...deep bites to his lower extremities requiring multiple stitches....he also has numerous abrasions from being dragged on the concrete. He has multiple wounds to his back, snoot and poor little Stuffie nose.

I'm hoping all nurses and nurse wannabes could come and help with some shifts. He needs wet to dry dressings on the deep lacerations with some iodiform gauze packing. Chicken broth needs to be spooned every 30 minutes to keep him hydrated. He needs to be turned every two hours to prevent bedsores....(the big word is Di Cube It Tie....) We're keeping him sedated to help him heel oops heal!! There was still a bottle of Absinthe here from Seymour, so Scruffy has been spoonin' him that, but I don't think Asta or Agatha, my nursing instructors would approve. Oh my...I hope they can come. My class hasn't read the chapter in my nursing book on Care of the Male Dale Stuffie Following a Gator Attack...

I propped him up here so he could take some nootrition, but he is very weak. It was a long car ride home with him!

Other than a few misadventures such as this, it was a FAB week!!!!

Anyone interested in helpin' to nurse Stuffie Stan, let me know...these 24 hour shifts are killin' me, and my brother's aren't much help....to say the least!

Barkin' at ya!!!

We're terrible nurses! We tend to shy away when any animal is in pain and we faint at the tiniest spot of blood! We're sorry we can't be there but we're sending AireZen that stufie Stan feels better real soon! The poor guy!

Love ya lots,

Lacie Girl!

Stella's in a box and winging her way to your house. You can have her for as long as you need her. She needs the nursing practice, and Stuffy Stan is Dale enough to take her practicing on him.

Be sure to keep all beer locked up at your house, though. Stella LOVES the stuff and has perfected her guzzling technique. Plus, she belches like a truck driver after every bottle.

Goober love & healing goob smooches for the STanMan,
Stanley

What is the Samhill did he think he ws doing with that gator? Common sense has flown out the window. Duct tape him to the bed until he heals.

Ouch! I'm amazed he lived to tell the tale, obviously made of very stern stuff!

Oh poor StuffieStan. I talked it over with everypawed one at our house and we decided that we will help out. Our main question is....what did the gator look like when StuffieStan was done with him? Did the DNR have to take him away??? Lacie hang in there!
cuddles,

Oh no!

I am so saddened by this news! Listen I am more than willing to come down there and take a shift ANYTHING you need I can do. I have had recent experience with a feverish labrador with a GIANT hotspot and doing a physical and vaccines on a monkey so maybe I can be of use?! (see these experiences on "take your person to work day" blog post).

I am on my way!

OH NO! I thought Stuffie Stan would take my advice and leave the gator wrasslin' to us professionals! Instead, he became Gator Bait! Give him a nice long soak in some swamp water and then all the cookies he can handle he should be fine in the morning!

Sorry you couldn't even save the day by procuring some nice shoes! (But it was fun to see The Back Door in your photos! And I've been shopping with Mommy at Palmetto's, too. Her friend Chuck is a partner there. So it was fun to see it in the background!)

Hope your vacation wasn't ruined by the gator!

Your pal,

Petey

Lacie...I must say that Stuffie Stan has really gone and done it this time..tryin' ta slay a gator that size is plum STUPID.....My Mom would not be any help at all nursing him, I am afraid. It looks like his wounds are bandaged properly and that his medicine is being expertly dispensed.....Good Job!!!!!Once Asta and Koobie arrive, ya can get some much needed rest.....

That photo was so horrible I don't think I will be able to sleep. What was that aire-head thinking? Did he have to get shaved at all?

I do have experience with stuffie nursing. Do you think I should come?

That was very graffic. WOW
I would help, but I am still having growing pains, and I am a male dog and would only get in the way and probably make a worser mess... I sure hope he gets healed real soon....

I can help!! Mom gave me a quick lesson in first aid, so I'm packing up supplies, and I'm being flown in by the Red Cross.

Maybe we should all get that alligator and make him into some shoes for what he did to StuffiStan!
