Mumsie came home from Christmas shoppin' to find this slipper on the floor...DESTROYED. Lacie (for once) wasn't speakin'.
She tried to interview Stanley, but he was unavailable for comment.
The other slipper is fine...just fine. The intruders must have only killed the one.
We know nuthin'.........well...it might have been....(Lacie slaps a paw over Scruffy's big mouth....)ummmmsmmmmmmmm....can't 'member anythin' happenin' here....

I know that you didn't chew that slipper, Stan, because I know for a fact who did. You are right, Scruffy. It was an intruder. It was the partridge. When Munsie was out, he flew into the house, grabbed the slipper, and tried to rip it to pieces. Partridges are like that. They like slippers. It was my hero Scruffy who saved the day and chased him out before he could devour the whole slipper. Don't be modest, Scruff Man. Tell them who saved the day and saved the slipper. You gotta watch those partridges, especially the slipper-eating variety.
