Turkey on Whole Wheat with Mayo!!!!!

Hi Everybody!!!!!

Scruffy here!!! Mumsie wants to thank eveybody for givin' their advice on the INCIDENT we had here the other night!!! She coulda asked us OUR OPINIONS!!!! I mean, Stan's and my collars got hooked together...I was STUCK TO THAT BIG DALE'S NECK.....what did she think I was gonna do...kiss him?? Sheeshch.....(Stanley here....and Scruffy's face was stuck right by my nose...have ya ever SMELLED HIS BREATH???? Yeeeeschshch!!!!!)


Speakin' of sheesch....lookie here. In my well written last Scruffy post, I described the perils of our perimeter and the lack of help offered by the Black and Tan Club. So look who strolled in our yard the other morning....BEFORE WE WERE OUT OF BED! Incarcerated.....

And who is guardin' the perimeter? Mumsie with her bag of whole wheat bread. Like that's gonna stop somebody....

THE NERVE OF THIS GUY! Tom Turkey is under OUR PEAR TREE. Mumsie didn't even bark at him. Not exactly a stellar job of guarding, huh?????

He's hooooooooge.

She finally told him if we didn't get outside, we were gonna wet ourselves...so Mr. Turkey left....with his friend...see him in the brush?????

But look who stopped by later that day!!!!!!!!

PSYCHO BAMBI!!!!! For once, Lacie and Stan actually stood up and looked like they cared we had an INVADER.

Stanley's actually movin' so fast it looks like there are two of him. He's a blur.

I think he should challenge Mango RH to a race....that would be a killer!~

Stan is so sayin'...."Mumsie...it's a deer...a deer...see it, see it???????" DA!!!!!!! Obviously, no one's ever told the big Dale to never turn your back on a crazed animal!

Request for Opinions By Mumsie.....

Hello Dogs, Kitties, PL's, Servants, Apes and what have ya.....

I am in a bit of a quandary....

We had an "INCIDENT" last night.

I normally walk all three dogs by myself. Lacie tugs a bit, but she weighs 12 lbs. Babystan is very good on a leash, but occasionally forgets himself when confronted with a flock of crows or the little Westie chick up the street of whom he is terrified....(Yes, I know...but he's a big marshmallow....)

Scruffy? Well, Scruffy is Scruffy. He loves to chase cars. He's almost been run over when wearing a flat collar as he lunges after them.

I've tried varying options, Gentle Leader head halters being one of them. They work, but Scruff and Stan detest them with passion....so I started using prong collars on the two of them. They worked amazingly well...the dogs know they're on and DON'T PULL... at all.

Well, last night we had a PROBLEM.

Somehow, Stan and Scruffy's prong collars hooked together. Very tightly, right at the necks....Scruffy completely freaked out and bit Stan and I had two snarling terriers trying to free themselves and kill/defend each other at the same time. Lacie, not to be outdone, kept zooming in yapping and shrieking at both of them. Two teenaged girls, whom I could have cheerfully strangled, almost fell over on the sidewalk laughing hysterically. (I do have a very over developed sense of humor, but it did fail me on this occasion.) Some lady ran out of her house on hearing all the racket and looked as if she wanted to call 911. At this point Stan's collar just fell off...and I was able to separate them. Thankfully, though Scruffy had some abrasions, no dog or human was really hurt. Babystan has darn good bite inhibition. (Thank you, Grandma Cathy!)

Does anyone have experience with no pull harnesses? Asta recommended the Gentle Leader Easy Walker and I tried it but think Scruffy is between sizes....

Has anyone used the Halti or the Sporn??????

I may just have to go back to the Gentle Leader for them, but I thought I'd ask you guys for opinions....

Perimeter Protection....HELP NEEDED....!!!!!

Scruff here...first of all Mumsie made me put this stoopid pic in of her peonies....she said it's entitled "Potential"....I think it should be called "Boring".....yawn......I have soooooooo much work to do our yardie....and no good help!

Psycho Bambi is back....hidin' some fawns in the brush....she ran straight toward me yesterday.....Mumsie chased her waving a bag of whole wheat bread at her; it was hilarious.

And we had a hoooooooge male turkey back right under our bedroom window....makin' all kinds of racket. Mumsie couldn't figure out what kinda dog was barkin' like that. Mr. Turkey musta wanted another DATE with Lacie. Sheeshch.....

And squirrels....tons of them...crows...still sniffin' Gooberstan's raw bones he left........

I HAFTA PROTECT THE PERIMETER!!!!!!!!!

And this little smilin' diva....protect the perimeter?????...she'd be invitin' all the vermin in for DATES!!!!!

Lacie here...so this mornin' Mumsie staggers outta bed and glances at the yardie perimeter....seems some vermin had arrived (Mrs. Turkey) with whom she had a discussion that it might be best for her to leave before we terriers came out and made lunchmeat outta her.

She quickly complied...'specially when she saw us removin' the mayo, bread and lettuce from the fridge.

Trotted off into the woods.

Now Mumsie still half asleep walks around back to find Stan barkin' at the turkey, Scruffy sniffin' madly by this bush and me...well, I was tryin' to decide which Snack N' Yak bush to feast on this morning....mmmmmm.....

Yes, it makes me do barfies...NO, I AM NOT ANOREXIC....but a girl does hafta fit into the latest trendiest styles..."What, Mumsie?" "We're gonna be havin' a discussion bout that later???"

Sheeshch.....

Anyway, she staggered half asleep doin' her usual mornin' jobs...sweepin' up the mulch that we flung everywhere last night in a mad game of chase, cleanin' up poop, her favorite AM chore.

All this without the benefit of her dear newspaper and Coke Zero...not a coffee drinker, that one....and she's crabby without her Zero....

And then it happened. THE BUSH 'SPLODED.

Scruffy had um well....dug his way into a mouse nest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Yeppers...mice everywhere....there was even one crawlin' up the bush and hangin' there like a Christmas ornament......

One mouse took off and headed straight at Mumsie...lookin' like he was gonna climb up her leggie or worse yet crawl up the inside of her nursey scrubs she was wearin' for jamies....

YOU HAD TO HEAR THE SCREAMS.....

She took off runnin' droppin her trusty pooper scooper in the mad frenzied dash 'cross the yardie....then she realized how stoopid she looked and collapsed laughin' in the grass.....

Nuff Said...I mean, they aren't exactly dinosaurs, are they?

Now Scruffy refused to leave his bush...but his twenty seven bladders were um well FULL.

So he trotted quickly over to Daddy's favorite lounge chair and DID THE DEED. If you bigify this pic you can see why we think Scruffy is full of pis er um has numerous bladders...he's a medical marvel!

He's still lookin' for those mousies!!!! Tenacious Terrier, huh.....

I'm still wonderin' what the neighbors thought when they heard Mumsie screamin' her full head off....

LACIE; Boxed......

Somedays life here is so bizzare that I just hafta laugh....Scruff here...as you can see by my large canines so gleemingly displayed.....

We've been protectin' the perimeter of our yardie like it's our JOB...well it is....AND I think we're gonna have some deer pups soon...the way the wildlife's been actin'.....I'm lickin' my chops in anticipation.

Um...speakin' of wildlife....Khyra found the pawfect way to immobilize Lacie...yeppers...once that girl begins to screech, shriek and yap....she just shoved her in the box and well....

PUT A LID ON HER. We've been tryin' to put a lid on Lacie for a long time. STRONG WORK, KHYRA!

It's actually pretty scary when she's in there...imagine Lacie's ginormous head poppin' outta that box yappin' and yippin'.....we're thinkin' we might need a stronger lock to keep her in there.

Speakin' of boxes...here's a video we took of the monkey box we sent Mango for his barkday.

Now he said this was terrieristic abuse....I'm thinkin' not. I mean, what if that monkey had leapt outta there and tried to snatch one of our bones? Noppers...not happenin' on our watch.
