One Portrait Wednesday.....

With apologies to Vermeer

Yes, yes, it's me Lacie...I do have a new hobby. When my flat self was in England visiting Miss Enid and being tutored in Eat A Cat lessons, she emphasized the importance of daily painting.

LADIES should be schooled in the genteel arts.

Odd pet I own there isn't it? I mean the one watchin' me paint...note his pearl earring....he kept droolin' down my socks.

This artist smock I get to wear is most flattering to my best side, isn't it?

Kisses,

Miss Lacie Propergirlie

We would agree that proper lady doggies find painting easier than needlepoint. And you certainly seem to be having a good time

Well done, Miss Lacie. I see that Dear Enid is finally making an impression and having a positive influence on you. Quite charming. The Allegory of Painting. However ... nudes? That was not the style of Vermeer. Perhaps you should allow Peter Paul Rubens to mentor you. His frocks would certainly fit (Jake made me say that.)

Appreciating your cultured new self,
Winston

Yes we are entranced by the unique rear view of the artist in all her velvet-clad rotundity -- but what is even more extraordinary is the lifelike rendering of the subject, Naked Terrier with Folded Ears.

Bravo!!!!!

I think the velvet really flatters you! And how did you manage to pierce the RH's big floppy ear(s)?

Lacie dear. It warms my wheels so, to see you partaking in such a genteel pastime. Most flattering that you take your mentors words to your dear little square heart. Your picture is - well quite a picture. And your subject matter charming, so much more illuminating than a dog with a pearl earing.

For our next lesson together I do believe I shall teach you the fine art of Lacie Tatting.

With fodest love, Miss Enid xxx
